Kay L. Anderson, MD, FAAP, IBCLC

Pediatrician and Breastfeeding Specialist in Lincoln, NE

As a breastfeeding medicine specialist at LPG, Dr. Anderson has dedicated her practice to helping young families adjust to parenthood for the past two decades.  She is equipped with training to support mothers in their breastfeeding journey, as well as address concerns about the baby's health and behaviors.

Dr. Anderson has over 40 years of healthcare experience, which started in high school in northeast Nebraska, where she worked as a hospital nurse’s aide. The University of Nebraska academic programs provided her degrees in Social Work, as a Registered Nurse and a Medical Doctorate. Pediatric Residency took her to the University of North Carolina in the early 1990s.

Dr. Anderson supports local maternal-child health organizations and she is an active member of a local church. Over the years, she has made several journeys to Honduras and Africa, to teach about infant medical care. As an empty nester, Dr. Anderson loves to travel near and far, often in search of red wine, black coffee, dark chocolate, and shopping districts.

Hobbies have come and gone with the phases of life, but Dr. Anderson has always enjoyed reading inspirational memoirs and knitting. When not working or traveling, she and her husband enjoy spending time with friends and family, specifically their 2 daughters, their husbands, …..and grand-babies!
